Product Description Classic Les Paul styling combined with a lustrous finish makes the Epiphone LP Junior Special Electric Guitar one hot-looking axe. Fast-playing neck and resonant tonewood body enhance the amazingly powerful, sustain-drenched tone of the single humbucker in the bridge position. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece create more sustain and make string changing easier. A fantastic first guitar or a very affordable solution for old hands who've always wanted a Junior to call their own.

epi lp junior April 6, 2010 paul day 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
people have made bad reviews on this guitar because they say it goes out of tune all the time. well, i havent had this problem at all and right out of the box this thing was wonderful!!! it plays easy and notes true and after the strings had a good stretch i have not seen this tuning problem that these other people have spoke of. i highly recomend this guitar to anyone.
Classic solid feel! January 27, 2010 A. Mozart (Palo ALto, Ca) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
To start off, this is one impressive guitar for the money. One of the very few guitars (if only) made with a solid piece of wood & mahogany neck, absolutely made to last. This guitar is pretty damn close to the original as far as quality & feel, though the neck is bolt on and the the tuners are a little weak. The pickup is a humbucker but it would be sweet if it had the P90 installed, though this little sucker can really rock and crank! This little monster is heavy as well, built like Sherman tank...the solid body dishes out insane sustain. May change the tuners to Grovers, and find a P90...but otherwise I'll keep her the same. A great guitar with classic looks, a 50's legend!
My son loves this guitar! January 12, 2010 Lynwood O. Gentry (Charlottesville, VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 10-year old son has been taking acoustic guitar lessons for about a year and was more than ready to try out an electric. He wanted this one, because Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day (his favorite band) plays a vintage Gibson version of the Junior. The guitar is beautiful, a little heavy for him to wear with a strap (he's sitting down to play mostly), but his small hands can work the frets without a problem, and he's loving all the sounds and sustains he can make happen with this thing. Pretty much stays in tune, has lovely light action. Amazing piece of equipment for the price.
Very pretty, professional looking instrument, nice sound... November 30, 2009 gg (Brooklyn, NY) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
only issue I have so far is it seems to need frequent retuning-as in, I notice the sound going flat before I'm even done practicing. This is my first guitar, so a)it's not like I'm taking this to the stage and need it to stay perfectly on key for more than, say, a half an hour, b)I'm not sure if maybe there's just something wrong with mine, and c)there might be a way to fix this, which I will look into.
Other than that, this is a steal. Even without amps (which I have yet to get) it sounds good - none of that infernal buzzing I got while playing around with a friend's low-action guitar, yet the strings/frets don't cut into my delicate little newbie fingers. If nothing else, it looks great hanging on the wall.
UPDATE: No more issues with the retuning! Still looks good, sounds even better than when I first got it! (Probably because I actually know how to play it now :)
