Even though we bought used, it was in very good condition. The book is full of tons of recipes for everything. Shipping was excellent!

My wife gave me this book about 3 years ago. The pages are all frayed and torn now. It is my grilling bible. So much in fact, that I keep all my other grilling recipes inside this book and it's the only thing I can find in the kitchen without asking my wife. I watch friends grill and quietly laugh at them because of what they don't know and it's the same thing I didn't know before I got this book. One friend grills chicken all the time and he stands over a 600 degree grill, with the lid open for over an hour turning and turning and turning his chicken. This books author talks about a guy just like this in the poultry chapter, saying that most don't believe they are barbecuing unless they stand over the grill and constantly turn the meat. I tried to tell him to set his grill at 450 and cook the breasts 5-6 minutes a side, turning once. He told me I was crazy. Another friend cooks his steaks for 30 minutes and turns them about 5 times with a fork and then cuts them open on the grill to see if they are done! If you ever wondered how someone can get a steak perfectly medium rare in 4 minutes turning one time, then they've probably read this book. If you love grilling and aren't afraid to admit you don't know what the heck you're doing, BUY THIS BOOK!

I picked up this book at a home depot or lowes on a whim in the bbq section probably 3 years ago, and I have to say it's probably the best cookbook I've ever used. It has large color photos for each recipe, it explains many things about grilling I never knew, and also is separated into sections (poultry, beef, sides, etc) with excellent info in each section on the type of meat/food used. For example, In beef it explain cuts of meat and differences, how to tell when beef is medium or well done, etc. and gives excellent tips. I've made a lot of the beef and chicken recipes given and all were great! I love that it gives you tips on how many times to turn the meat, etc. I also love the compound butter recipes and rubs, I've used them on other foods they're great. One thing to note that another reviewer mentioned is the binding does come out a bit after many uses. The paper is high quality and thick, so the binding doesn't hold up after a lot of reading. Even so, I have found this is my "go to" cookbook for when I have company coming over. I've also made some of the recipes and cooked in the broiler in the winter, with good results. I am going to buy this book as a gift for friends, I know they'll love it. Happy grilling!

Outstanding recipes. I bought this one for my grandson for fathers day. I have used the one I have for 8 years or so and haven't found a bad recipe yet.
