Product Description Michael Jackson first entered a recording studio in November 1967, just three months after his ninth birthday. Two years later he and his older brothers scored their first hit, 'I Want You Back' - and, despite set-backs that would have ended the career of a lesser man, Michael's legion of fans remain as loyal today as they have ever been. This is the story of the man and his music...

The truth is in the transcripts....not media coverage July 7, 2010 Lynn J. Gee (New York) I just finished this book and I am very impressed. Yes, Aphrodite does surround the transcripts with "her" opinions and comments, but the transcripts really are the key to the truth. Her book is very well written, clear and easy to follow. I also read "Redemption" last week and between the two of them you will understand how MJ interacted with children and how unfortunately this led to easy prey for extortion. If you are interested in the facts, you must get this book.
Fantastic read June 4, 2010 Anne Marie Lim (Singapore, Singapore, SG) I've always been interested in knowing more about the songs of Michael Jackson & this book is clearly worth everything that it has helped me understand. This book has charted every song ever released or known to have recorded by Michael Jackson starting frm the early years. Very detailed information and nicely organised. A fabulous read!!!
Good Book! April 17, 2010 C. Woodson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book gives a lot of data of Michael's work and performances, it's just a good reference of his work, travel, music and awards.Just in case you forgot something he may have done, this will remind you of the works of the King Of Pop!
Enjoyable and interesting February 10, 2010 D. Dale (Berkshire) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had seen reviews for this book and I wasn't disappointed.
It took three years to research and write and documents all the songs that Michael wrote, sang or produced. They are in alphabetical order and each entry includes the release date and other interesting facts, for example In The Closet was originally called (Coming) Out Of The Closet, and was intended as a duet with Madonna. A demo version is believed to exist!
It starts with officially released singles and albums by Michael and his brothers and all other collaborations he has been involved with, also unreleased songs he has written or co written. Also included are official remixes, demo versions, cover versions and tracks which have sampled his songs.
There are some interesting snippets at the back of the book in a section called Rumour Has It. Here lies a list of titles that may or may not exist that Michael may have recorded, written or been involved with. One entry is I'll Try Anything Once, one of two songs Michael alledgedly wrote for Kylie Minogue - slated to appear on her Fever album in 2001, but remains unconfirmed.
An enjoyable book I would be happy to recommend.

This is the book for you if you wand every detail of musical works Mj was involved in thru his life. I can be dry and dull if you try to read it all in one sitting but it's packed with trivia! I plan to donate my MJ books to the local library after I've read them. It is a way to get out that he was innocent and that his kind of entertainment talent only happens once. I am a new fan; post MJ's death. To keep his legacy alive we need to spread the word. I'd like to see a book dedicated soley to MJ's humanitarian deeds. He was such a loving and caring person.
