The book Dancing the Dream came in the condition that was written. I am very pleased with my purchase. A little pricey, but worth it.

5 out of 5 stars multi-faceted Michael Jackson   July 1, 2010

Many books have been written about Michael Jackson the Entertainer. But Michael Jackson's Dancing the Dream should be required reading for anyone wanting to get to know Michael Jackson, the Man. In addition to MJ's phenomenal talents as a singer, dancer and songwriter, Michael had a wonderful, easy way with words as an author as well. Dancing the Dream is a beautifully written book of essays, poetry and observations about life. The heart of this book is MJ's writing and the soul of this book is MJ's message. His message is that we are all connected to each other and to this planet. We are all in this together, and we can make it wonderful if we all work at it. Only a genuinely good, decent person could have or would have written a book like this. When Michael died, we not only lost one of the the greatest entertainers of all time, we lost a mighty fine human being as well. As for the book itself, a lot of thought was put into its layout and design, from the typefaces used to the well-chosen photographs used to illustrate each entry. And check out the really cool drawing done by MJ himself of when he was very young. This one drawing itself tells a story, and is an example of one more thing this Renaissance Man was good at: visual art. I totally recommend this book to any one who wants to get a good look at another side of Michael Jackson.

5 out of 5 stars In honor of Michael Jackson   April 4, 2010

I don't know if anyone will ever surpass Michael's genius and lyricism, but as poet, I too wanted to honor his memory and that of all abused children... So that we may finally "Heal the world...make it a better place... for you and for me and the entire human race..." I hope you find inspiration in what I wrote and the memory of the genius I revere...

This book is a beautiful tribute to Michael Jackson, his life, his beauty, and everything he stood for. "Have You Seen My Childhood: In Memory of Michael Jackson" was written in memory of MJ and all the children of the world. 50% of the proceeds will go to a 501-c3 charity for Abused Children, "Dreamcatchers for Abused Children". Watch my young daughter prepare the illustration for MJ's poem and read the poem excerpt from the book below...

Have You Seen My Childhood (Volume 1)
Have You Seen My Childhood: in memory of Michael Jackson, our Earthly Angel (Volume 1)

BeFallen Angel
(To Michael Jackson, our "Earthly Angel")
Miami Beach 12-25-2009

When I was just a kid
My heart danced to your song
Entrancing melody
The whole world crooned along

Then came the thriller years
That filled my preteen doom
Black and white merged as one
From ballroom to bedroom

Kid, befallen Angel
Of Fear, reads in your eyes
Man, eternal Seeker
Torture shows in your smiles

Kid, befallen Angel
A Genius of a kind

Man, eternal Seeker
A poison of the mind

As I reached puberty
Your music drove me wild
From underneath the drapes
Authority, defiled

A voice that pierced my soul
Lyrics, entranced my mind
And moves that grooved my hips
Songs of a gifted kind

Kid, befallen Angel
Of Fear, reads in your eyes
Man, eternal Seeker
Torture shows in your smiles

Kid, befallen Angel
A Genius of a kind
Man, eternal Seeker
A poison of the mind

In my room, all darkness
Your tears lifted my gloom
To tune out all the noise
I turned up the volume

In my life, but sadness
Your sun was my rainbow
A heart for me to share
Of King and Pharaoh

Kid, befallen Angel
Of Fear, reads in your eyes
Man, eternal Seeker
Torture shows in your smiles

Kid, befallen Angel
A Genius of a kind
Man, eternal Seeker
A poison of the mind

The father who raped you
Of innocence and highs
Sowing the seeds of doubt
To grow his empty lies

The Devil in disguise
Who lived through your virtues
Holding down with the boot
The innocent, subdues

Kid, befallen Angel
Of Fear, reads in your eyes
Man, eternal Seeker
Torture shows in your smiles

Kid, befallen Angel
A Genius of a kind
Man, eternal Seeker
A poison of the mind

The firing squad proceeds
Sanctions the legacy
Leading to an exile
Desert land of Mercy

They dragged you in the mud
Crucified, your halo
They stoned the son of God
Disfigured, a hero

Kid, befallen Angel
Of Fear, reads in your eyes
Man, eternal Seeker
Torture shows in your smiles

Kid, befallen Angel
A Genius of a kind
Man, eternal Seeker
A poison of the mind

They killed the King of Pop
Not a word of remorse
Murdered the heart of Love
Now they feed on your corpse

They killed the King of Pop
For a taste of the fame
Foam-filled mouths that circle
Vultures feast on the shame

Kid, befallen Angel
Of Fear, reads in your eyes
Man, eternal Seeker
Torture shows in your smiles

Kid, befallen Angel
A Genius of a kind
Man, eternal Seeker
A poison of the mind

Michael, you are my heart
My youth, my joy, my pride

Michael, you are my love
Innocent, your divide

Michael, eyes of a child
Candid dreams you outshine
Michael, beauty asleep
Who has reached the Divine

Kid, befallen Angel
Fear once read in your eyes
Man, eternal Seeker
Torture has left your smiles

Kid, befallen Angel
A Genius of a kind
Man, eternal Seeker
In death, a peace you find

I have a very large MJ collection. I can't believe this book isn't all over book shelves. There is so much trash out there and this beautifully written book seems to have been sadly overlooked. I would highly recommend it!!
